"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

God's Word reminds us that we all have sinned. The word sin means to "miss the mark". At one time or another, we have all deliberately chosen to disobey God.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

A wage is a payment. The payment for your sin is death and separation from God, in a place that the Bible calls hell. "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." Revelation 20:14

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

The word commendeth means "proved". God proved His love for you by giving His own Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for your sins.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9

To believe on Jesus Christ as Saviour means to believe that He died for you; that He paid the price for your sin; and that He is the only way to Heaven. You can express your belief on Jesus by calling on Him in prayer. 

God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I cannot make it to Heaven without you. I know that Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sins and that He rose from the dead. I am trusting Him and Him only to take me to Heaven when I die. Forgive me of my sin. Thank you, Jesus. AMEN.

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." John 10:28
